National Chairman Dr. Moses Wokono Addresses Members
The UASA National Chairman walks members through governance, contributions and member benefits.

Addressing members, UASA National Chairman Dr. Moses Wokono set out what he called the three obligations of a member-owned Sacco: save consistently, govern openly, and lend responsibly.
On governance
The Chairman was direct about the reason many co-operatives fail. It is rarely the loan book; it is silence. Where members are not told the truth about arrears and costs, small problems mature into losses.
He committed the board to reporting performance to members on a regular cycle, with the audited accounts tabled at every Annual General Meeting.
“A Sacco is only as strong as the honesty of its reports and the discipline of its savers.”
On contributions
Members were reminded that registration is a one-off Ksh 1,000, the annual subscription is Ksh 3,000, and monthly contributions are the foundation of both dividends and loan eligibility. Contributions are made through Paybill 400200, account 01134773984500.
On member benefits
- Loans priced for the education sector rather than generic retail risk
- Dividends on share capital and interest on member deposits
- Financial literacy and business training for school directors
- A collective voice for APBET institutions on financing matters
